Personal Branding 101 - Stand Out, Grow, and Make an Impact

Lots of people want to be known around the world, and if you have a personal brand, you're already on your way.

I wouldn't personally have built a successful business without personal brand building.

It simply is more of a need, rather a luxury.💯

Your personal brand shows off what you're good at a way that people who need your skills can easily understand.

It also acts like a promise of what others can expect from you.

...and making this promise wisely can really help your career.

This is super IMPORTANT because it makes you stand out from others who might be doing similar things.

For example, if two people are really good at making and sharing art, the one with a strong personal brand might be more recognized and trusted.


This trust and recognition can lead to exciting chances like art shows or collaborations with other artists.

In our world today, where so much happens online, it’s really important to have a good personal brand.


I understand that trying to put yourself out there and build your personal brand might feel overwhelming at first, especially if you’re beginning with no clear guide.

But by concentrating on some basic steps, you can lay down a solid base that helps both your personal and professional growth.

Think of it like planting a garden. First, you decide what you want to grow, then you prepare the soil, plant the seeds, and care for them regularly.

In today's edition, I am going to lay down the strategies to systematically and efficiently grow your personal brand.


#1. Establish Your Home Base: Get a Website

Before anything else, you need a central place where people can find you, learn about you, and connect with you.

A website serves as this home base. It doesn't have to be elaborate, but it should clearly represent who you are and what you offer.

If you don't already have one, now's the time to get started. Platforms like WordPress, Squarespace, and Wix make it relatively easy to set up a professional-looking site.

#2. Clarify Your Unique Selling Proposition

What makes you different and valuable to your audience is YOUR UNIQUE VALUE

You need to develop a unique selling proposition (USP), along with relevant keywords, a memorable tagline, and an elevator speech.

These elements should quickly convey your value to anyone who encounters your brand.

Spend time refining these messages—they are the core of how others perceive you.

Honestly, it took me some time to get this right. Crafting your niche and being able to convey your EXPERTISE in the most effective way takes time.

#3: Pick Your Stage: Launch a Blog or Another Channel

You can pick up a medium you are comfortable with and a platform you enjoy.

Starting a blog or using another medium like video or podcasting is great for sharing your thoughts and showcasing your expertise.

A) Select a format that fits how you like to express yourself—maybe you love writing, or perhaps speaking in front of a camera or microphone is more your style.

(I personally love writing blogs and posts and occasionally I make videos to build more depth in my content. Videos also add to your credibility.)


B) Begin by putting out content consistently. Doing this increases how much people see you and also helps you connect with and expand your audience.

By regularly sharing your ideas and insights, you can start meaningful conversations, attract followers who are interested in your topics, and build a community around your brand.


This won't only boosts your VISIBILITY but also establishes you as a go-to source in your field.



#4: Embrace Social Media for Brand Growth

As you build your brand, remember that social media isn't just a good-to-have, it's a must-have.

While you might be juggling multiple platforms, it's essential that you shine on at least one where your audience loves to hang out.

For a lot of professionals like us, LinkedIn is a game-changer.

It's where we network, share our accomplishments, and carve out our professional persona.

With consistent posting for about 1015 days, I built a highly engaged audience and inbound list of prospects who are knocking at my door each day to work with me and my agency. 

It's amazing how much we can create and leverage with consistent efforts in the right direction. 

So whether it's LinkedIn or another platform that resonates with your audience, dive in deep.

Focus on connection, showcasing your skills, and follow the rest of the strategies below.


#5: Connect and Team Up

A few strategies you need to use each day on Linkedin or any other social media channel.

👉Network Actively: Engage with industry peers and influencers through DMs. Make sure you are interested in them and NOT SIMPLY talk about yourself.

👉Join Events: Attend industry events and participate in webinars to connect with others. Ask relevant questions and find people who you could potentially collaborate with.

👉Collaborate: Offer to work together on projects or content with others in your field. 

👉Build Relationships: Add value to your new connections and build strong foundation. This way you'll boost your visibility and open new opportunities.

👉Engage in Comments: Active engagement can lead to valuable partnerships and elevate your reputation. Comments are the best place to leave your valuable tips and get noticed by new audience. 


#6: Build Your Email List and Social Media Presence

Your email list is your most important business asset.

Because it lets you talk directly to your audience without depending on social media algorithms.

It's a cost-effective way to reach people who are interested in what you offer.

So, when you care for the growth of your email list, you build a strong base for your business to grow and stay steady, even when other marketing methods are uncertain.
